Please Read: Converting Over To AWeber, Keep Your Eyes Open

Hello everyone I just wanted to let you all know that I’m sure most of you already Feedburner VS Aweber heard that Google will be discontinuing FeedBurner in the up coming months to come.

So with that said, I have no choice but to move all my subscribers over to a working system like AWeber- in order for me not to loose any of my subscribers.

Moving over to AWeber requires a different approach and here’s how it will go.

AWeber process is a little different and will require for any existing subscribers that were on my FeedBurner list to confirm their subscription to AWeber, so if you see an email from AWeber please don’t ignore it, it’s probably me asking you to confirm your subscription.

If you don’t confirm your subscription you will no longer be OPT-IN to my blog and will no longer receive any of my updates which I would really hate to see happen.

So please make sure if you’re a regular reader of this blog, make sure you’re on my list.

You’re all very important to me and my blog, It would not be the same with out you 🙂 so make sure you are on my list.

If you really want to make sure you are on my new list, you could just add your email right in the OPT-IN form on my main page because it’s already configured.

I submitted my subscriber from FeedBurber to AWeber, AWeber will look over all the subscriptions that I submitted to make sure they’re legit, I know sounds crazy but true.

What does this mean? Well you should be receiving an email from AWeber asking you to confirm your subscription to my list, just click confirm and you will remain on my subscriber list.

If you have any questions you may also contact me by using the contact form at the top of this page. Thank you all so much for being GREAT. Have a wonderful see you all on the list 🙂

    • Hello Karthik, Yes there’s a lot of rumours that Google will be shuting FB down any day now and I dont want to be left out in the cold.

I’ve already made the transition over to AWeber just trying to give my subscribers a heads up.

Hey thanks so much for joining my list its great to have you. have a great day my friend.

  3. Thanks for letting us know. I recently switched (unknowing that Feedburner would be no longer:) from Feedburner to MailChimp. I’ll make sure I’m on the list to get your email updates.

    • Hi Dan, Thanks you my friend,

The process is kinda completed because AWeber has to check all your subscribers to make sure there not bought from any list.

I did not know you could do something like that.

Just wanted to let you guys know what was going on so I would not loose and of my subscribers.

Thank you so much for joining the list.

  4. Hi Rob,

I don’t even know there is a FeedBurner. I’m Aweber all the way. I believe I subscribe to the right autoresponder. I see FeedBurner on my email sometimes but dunno what it’s for really. So that is what’s what. Anyway, I love Aweber!!!

Angela McCall recently posted…How to start as a Freelancer? My Profile

    • Hello Angela, Yes FeedBurner has been around for many years, I have been using it for over a year but you can’t do much with it. I have seen you on my new AWeber list so I think your good to go.

I’m still working on my Op-tin form so it might be a few days before I even get started using it. There’s so much to learn about AWeber and I’m trying to soak it all up.

Thanks so much for sticking in there I’m trying not to loose to many of my old subscribers.. Have a great day.

  5. Maybe that’s why I haven’t gotten your new posts via email. Do you really think Feedburner will go away? I’m not so sure but I did just switch to MailChimp, I wanted more of a newsletter format. I may eventually move to Aweber. I don’t mind learning them all, gives me more to blog about, right, Rob?

  6. I’m in! Opted in, that is. I’m still on feedburner and I’m pretty sure Imma moving over to Aweber.
Funny. The confirmation subscription email came with this address: Creativebloggers, 2405 harbor town drive, kissimmee, Florida 34744, USA. Disney? 😉

    • Hello Jan, Thanks so much y friend for joining my list. I’m still working on it so it might me a few days yet before I put it into action.

Aw yea Disney land oh how we love it 🙂

AWeber is a great service I really wanted to join because you can do so much more with it. Now I’m gonna start building my list and move on from there.

Thanks so much for your comment it’s always a pleasure .

  7. Hi Rob,

I went through a similar process a couple of years back when I switched from Feedburner to Mailchimp.

I’ve used Aweber in the past too. These types of tools are far more flexible and we can send out e-mail updates and newsletters to our readers and followers.

Hope Aweber works well for you.
Hiten recently posted…How to improve your business callsMy Profile

    • Hello Hiten, Yes I’ve been using Feedburner for something now although it’s a stable system I did not want to wait until it went down.

I also wanted to be a bit more personal with my readers so I chose AWeber for that purpose.

Thanks so much for stopping by my friend it’s always a pleasure.

  8. Ah, another report that Feedburner is closing down.

It’s never been officially announced Rob although they have closed a lot of their services connected to Feedburner. I’ve been trying to decide what I’m going to do myself but I don’t want to go with a premium service and I don’t want my readers to feel that they have to subscribe to my list either. That’s the sole purpose of having an RSS feed.

Good luck with this change over and hope it all goes well for you.

On that other issue I’ll get that to you eventually. It’s been a pretty busy day for me as you can imagine. Monday’s always are.

    Have a great week.

    • Hello Adrienne, I have been hearing about FB closing for a few months now and I for one don’t want to wait until the last minute and risk loosing my subscribers all together.

Have you try AWeber? they have some amazing features and the price is really not that bad. You can test drive their service for a $1.00 for a 30 day trial.

I think if you’re really serious about list building then you will need to have more control over how you conduct your interactions online, and how you deliver your content.

Thanks so much for your comment my friend it’s always a pleasure.

  9. HI Rob,

First, I have subscribed to your list.
Since the day I’ve stepped in the blogosphere there has been a news that FB will be deprecated but really don’t know the facts. I would prefer to switch to MC before moving on to Aweber.

    Thanks Rob for the share.

sapna recently posted…Are you an Optimistic or Pessimistic blogger(Cartoon-graphics)My Profile

    • Hello Sapna, Yes you are correct but the date is still unknown as of yet.

I’ve been using FB since I started my blog and for the most part is has been a great FREE! service.

I have using AWeber for a few weeks now and it is also a very nice service.

Thank so much for stopping by it’s always a pleasure.

  10. Hi Rob,

I hope everything went smoothly for you with the switch mate 🙂 Usually I’m not an email subscriber though. Many bloggers use Aweber or MailChimp as I know and Aweber is on top.

I’m using FeedBurner at my place and before about 6 months, I’ve heard the same story that FeedBurner gonna shut down in coming months. Funny thing is that was announce by Aweber or MailChimp (I don’t remember exactly).

So yet I have faith in FB and my assumption is it’s gonna get an upgrade, may be with a new brand name 🙂 Don’t know, just analyzing the facts as else it should have gone by last year when Google cut down other products. But you can’t gauge 🙂

As it’s still not an official response, I’m sticking with FB. I did try MailChimp as an alternative in case if I have to make the switch, so I’m ready for it. Anyway I really prefer the way FB works 🙂

I also love the auto responder along with some other great features.

Thanks so much for you input it’s always a pleasure to know what other bloggers think. Have a great day.

  11. Hello Rob,

I’m in! Just wrote my name on your list 😉

Yeah! I think it’s 3rd or 4th post I’m reading about feedburner is closing, which makes me kinda believe that it’s true, and feedburner also showing signs of it, because recently some features got dropped off.

I’m also big fan of Aweber, have some good experience with Aweber. And now I’m planning to set it for my new blog in few days.. 🙂

  13. Hey Rob,

Are you sure feedburner is going to close its service? Any official announcements?

I remember I subscribed to CB via feedburner, I still did not get any subscription request from Aweber. I will wait 2 days if I won’t get then I would subscribe manually.

I imported all my subscribers and AWeber sent out the request it might have gone to your junk mail.

  14. Hey Rob,
Just waiting for the email from AWeber and good luck on your transfer brother.

  16. Hi Rob,

I must be living in a cave as I have not heard that Google is going to discontinue feedburner. Thanks for the post and reminding us.

It is tough when you have to change your list to another provider. Because of the Aweber policies people who do that lose some portion of their subscribers because they either do not open the email or do not re-optin.

Having said that perhaps that is not a bad thing. It is better to have a smaller and responsive list than a large one where the response is not so wonderful.

Wishing you best of luck with Aweber. (I really like dealing with them. Their staff is very helpful)

Dita from BloggingSpree recently posted…How To Make Money Blogging – 60 Minutes To SuccessMy Profile

    • Hello Dita, Yes you are correct about AWeber. I did not know about the process AWeber takes so that you can import your subscribers from Feed-burner.

And yes you will loose a few in the process but that’s OK like you said, I would rather have a responsive list.

I have been hearing about Feed-burner closing down for a few months and I did not want to wait until the last minute.

Thanks so much for stopping by Dita it’s a pleasure to see you my friend. Are you using AWeber also?

  18. Nice info Rob,

Fisrt time to your blog. I just trying to find a way to swich from mailchimp to aweber, without having to do all the work with the subscribers again.. But as a read, i should import my list first and then wait the results of the automated mail from aweber to my former subscribers 🙁 I hope to score a nice re-subscription rate..

I also used sendblaster but i was not satisfied from the spam score though..

    ps: Just opted-in..
    Thanks for the info Rob

    • Hello Giorgos, thanks so much for stopping by. AWeber has some very helpful tutorial that will help you make the change over. They will look over the import of subscribers to make sure they’re legit and if all goes well they will be added to your list.

The only problem with that is they will send a email out to everyone that you’ve imported, but if they don’t open that email and confirm it, that particular subscriber will not be added to your list.

Thanks again for the comment and I wish you luck on the change over.
