How Do Bloggers Start Their Day? Hey You, Wake Up.

You're AWESOME! for sharing my post? Thank you so much.

I thought this next blog post would be fun because I’m sure we all lead interesting lives. But how does a blogger start off their day? This next schedule I’m presenting is primarily from Monday to Friday, what’s yours?

My schedule usually changes on the weekend as far as the Internet is concerned I allow my self much more time to take care of business.

    • Wake-up time 5:00 AM

Each morning I get up at 5:00 AM, yes even on my weekends. I guess my body is conditioned to wake up at this time because I’ve been doing it for such a long time.

Believe it or not most of the time I’m up even earlier, I really think it has something to do with getting older, :) who said that? Not me.

  • Coffee brewing 5:05 AM

By 5:05 AM- each morning coffee is already Bruin, I fix a cup every day for my wife to start her day. I bring her a cup of coffee and place it at her bedside so when she gets up her coffee is already waiting for her, she’s usually up around 5:30 AM, every morning.

  • Letting the pups out 5:10 AM

By 5:10 AM- my two pups are up and ready to go outside, I let that them both out in my yard so can do what they have to do.

After they’re done I let them back in and it’s feeding time, as most of you may know Max-G. Is a very special dog he has a very unique personality and you really got to understand him to get to know.

I have a tendency to spoil them very much and I think they know this. Max-G, who is an 8-year old red noise pit bull terrier, I start preparing his food and I take it into his room yes, he has his own room and I think he prefers it that way.

He likes to eat there because he feels safe in his room we only have carpet there and he doesn’t like walking on the tile floors, I know strange pup.

My little girl Lilly-G, is a 6-year old mix jack Russell, who also likes eating in her room because we have it all nice and conformable for her as well.

It takes me about ten minutes to get my pups all situated and then I’m ready to move on and take care of my online activities.

  • Checking social media websites 5:20 AM

Around 520 AM- Each day I’m ready to check all my social media sites to see if there are any messages I need to answer, I also check to see how things are going.

I never really turn off my PC, my computer stays on pretty much 24 hours a day seven days a week.

The reason I leave my computer on is because a lot of times I’m on my computer so much I don’t really like waiting for it to boot-up, so I leave it on.

I have a list of social media sites and I go down the list and check each site to see what’s going on.

I start off with Google+, I like checking my Google+ because I also have a community group called Let’s build it together, were me and a few member gather to share content. After that I move on to my YouTube, to see if there’re any new subscribers and maybe answer a few comments left on my videos.

Now I’m ready to move on to my LinkedIn, pages were I have made some very cool connections. Aw Twitter, is one of my favorites and I spend a lot of time twitting, I also answer any tweets I may have gotten which I often do, and also thank anyone who may have re-tweeted me or mentions.

Now I check my Facebook, page to also see if there’re any new comments or maybe new friend request. Last but not least I pop over to Pinterest, to see if anyone pinned me or started following.

These are my primary social media sites that I use on a daily bases. This method is very important to me to maintain, the fact that I continue to repeat the process means I have condition my self , it’s very important to be consistent in everything you do online.

I then check my blog at Creativebloggers.net, to make sure everything is ok or to answer new blog post comments I may have gotten over night. I only allow about 15 to 20 minutes, each morning to check because I have to leave for work around 5:45 AM every morning.

  • Checking my G-mail 5:35 AM

Finally I get to check my mail inbox to clean things up a bit and answer a few emails and help questions, from people who follow my blog. G-mail has changed some what for the better I’m assuming. You have to check your spam box daily because most of the mails are being rerouted there for your protection.

  • My Saturday routine starting time 5:00 AM

On my weekends I have more time to concentrate and focus on my blog because I set aside more writing time. I can usually get some writing time in early Saturday morning before we head out to do our daily chores.

Sundays are the days I schedule and publish my articles because I spend the whole day’s online doing what I need to get everything completed. Although you will see article being released on earlier days because if I have written something I feel should be published I will share it with my readers.

  •  You need consistency when interacting online

The schedule you see above never really changes, blogging has become a very important part of my life because I enjoy what I do and you should to.

My point was when I wrote this article was to make you aware of being available is a very important part of blogging.

Do you want to improve your content and advance, your profession?

The fact that you don’t have a schedule may be why you cannot reach your online goals. If you can see your absence from your online activities, so can your readers.

Please share with me what your everyday routines is and
how do you apply yourself.

Are you consistent with your blog or website?

  1. I usually check my emails last (After work). And getting up early is one way to start building your blog (if you are still working) or you can definitely stay late up at night around 10pm to 12pm. 5pm – 10 pm would be family time and I make sure I have no work in mind during that time.

    • Hello Ryan, My best writing times is one the weekends preferable Sundays because I don’t really like going places because the next day is a work day so I try to stay close to home.

During the week I sometimes gather my blog content together and get everything written up for publishing on Sundays.

Trying to find that quite time is very important if you want to stay productive.

Thanks so much for stopping my friend I hope you have a great weekend, talk to you soon.

  2. First off, how do you make that “Please check to prove YOU ARE human” button? Is there a special plugin I can install on my blog?

Anyway, I read your whole entire blog for today. I have subscribe on your YouTube, invited you on Linkedin, followed you on Twitter & Pinterest. Wow, you have over 17K followers on Twitter; you must be an ancient. LOL!!! Dang. I have a long ways to go!!

I didn’t like Twitter till today after I downloaded the icon on iPhone 5. I have like over 500 followers there but never bother to check my messages because it was too hard to do it on my laptop. Now, I think iPhone makes life easier!! Thank God for this.

Anyhoo, I like your consistency. That’s what I need to start doing. My schedule at home is very inconsistent. I do it whenever I feel like it and when I start working I never stop. I end up working till 4-7:00 in the morning! It shouldn’t be that way. But I’m nocturnal. I love working at night coz it’s quieter. In the morning I hear all kinds of noises. But one day, I will get up at 5:00 in the morning and just condition myself like you did.

I know everyone have different real life things going on but if I have to deal with everything day in and day out, then I need some thinking time for my self :)

Twitter is my favorite social media site and I spend a lot of time twitting and connecting with other twitter members is has been a lot of fun making new friends on there.

Angela what message is being displayed now when someone try’s to leave a comment on your blog?

Thanks so much for stopping by it’s always a pleasure.

  3. Hey Rob,

Nice to read your routine and consistency is always being the key to make things better, no? :)

Usually I don’t wake up morning if I have no other work ’cause I sleep early in the morning mostly :) My day is start with my blog and I’ll be notified for new emails from clients or people who would like to contact me for any services or so mate :) I used to jump on Social Media at once, but my priority goes for work and I check social media while doing ‘em if I’m capable of.

Mostly my day is goes with the to-do list I keep track of and strike off as I finish ‘em off or continue from previous day :) That’s my way of doing things as ideas pops up and fade away if I don’t write it down. Also I keep changing and updating stuff related to my blog to see if things get better or worse :) Well, I have list of blogs to check out throughout the week and I read techy news and stuff that useful for me everyday.

Anyway if you ask me to say what I’d do in 6.30 PM, I have no answer :D lol… Things depends on priorities for me mate :) But I manage to do what I have to and wants to to at the end of the day if it’s not taking more time. That’s for sure :)

    Cheers…

  4. Hello Mayura, I think it’s really important to have a writing routine if you’re really trying to take your blog to the next level, the reason I say this is because you need to be present to show people that you are available if needed.

One of the common things I see is bloggers who are absent from their blogs, then their wondering why things are not picking up.

The key word here is “consistency” if you don’t have a schedule and sticking to it don’t expect things to improve because your readers see that your blog does not really mean much to you.

Thanks so much for your input my friend it’s always a pleasure

  5. Hello Rob what a great post man you sure keep up with your blog. I try to be available as much as I can but sometimes it’s kind of hard with school and stuff but after reading your post I will try my best to change a few things. Thank you so much

  6. Hi Rob,
    Consistency is my downfall!

Need to really do some work on the posting,
    Write and schedule each week?
Tried for one each day but didn’t meet my goal!
Think maybe I spend to much time on Twitter and Facebook postings
to the detriment of my Blog!
    Cararta

    • Hello ArtaGene, thanks so much for stopping by, It’s very important to be consistent because if your readers don’t see that you’re active they figure you don’t really think much about your blog or website.

As far as social media goes, you can always keep up with that just set some time aside for that only, I would focusing more on your writing and building your readership, should be first priority in any case.

Trying to produce article everyday takes a lot of commitment and if you have a busy life style then it might be hard to accomplish.

Thank you for sharing your comment with me if there’s anything I can do to help you just let me know. Have a wonderful day my friend.
RGoss recently posted…How Do Bloggers Start Their Day? Hey You, Wake Up.My Profile

  7. Oooh, you and I almost exist in opposite time zones. If I go to bed before 2am that’s an early night. More typically 3am and onwards, as I then read in bed to turn my head off. Mornings, where possible, I hide away until about 10am.

When I go on holiday with more “normal” friends I just can’t switch myself into their routine. We part company about midnight and then I’m wide awake until my usual bed-time.

I’ve always been a night owl and “not a morning person”. I think I prefer to work when no-one is likely to interrupt me.

We’re all individuals, so blogging is great to let us do what works best.
Joy recently posted…Snowed Under with Traffic ExchangesMy Profile

    • Joy, I’m so glad to hear that your “not a morning person” either. Coz I’m not either. Even when I was working in a hospital, I preferred the PM shift vs. AM shift. I become alive at night. And that’s how I would normally do, I would work late and get up around 10:00 AM. Now, my husband is just the opposite. He likes to work early like 6:00 AM and come to bed @ 10:00. And so I find this very difficult for me coz my office is in our bedroom too. And so I’ve been contemplating lately to move my office into the spare room we have. Since my daughter left, I think her room is a good alternative for my office.

Yesterday, was tough. 2nd day is tough again…but I can get used to it eventually. We are creature of HABITS I might as well form a consistency in a productive manner. He too, loves to work early in the morning. And so I’m trying to adapt to his schedule. You’ll never know it might do me good. I’m blogging this to see BEFORE and AFTER. It looks AWESOME!!! However, since my daughter left, hubby have been using this bedroom to shoot all his eBay merchandise and the room is packed with clothes. 8. Hello Rob! Granny here!!
Love that you’re able to keep the consistency going. As I’m transitioning from my current job to my company full time, it gets harder to have a routine. My days off rotate on my job (that’s when I choose to do most of my writing). Once I am able to leave my job to write full time, I will be back on a consistent schedule. It does help keep the focus on the blog and on the relationship you have developed with your subscribers. Otherwise, you’re just writing anything for the benefit of having something posted. Thanks for sharing your life with us.

I really think most bloggers are having trouble finding the times to create their content and don’t really know how to apply their self’s in order make it happen.

My writing time never really changes unless life situation occurs and is out of my control.

I want to thank you so much for taking the time to comment on this topic it’s great to know what other bloggers ate thinking. Have a wonderful day

  9. Love your schedule Rob. Since you asked, here goes: Wake up, make sure Titan is in bed with me, grab phone, check Twitter, Email, Twitter, Facebook, Twitter, Google+ all while watching the news. Get up, Titan outside to pee while I’m fixing his breakfast, still reading tweets, Titan inside to eat, pre-shower primping, Titan outside to pee, Titan inside, me shower, primping for work while checking twitter and fussing with Titan to go outside again, primp some more, Titan for walk, check twitter, off to work. Ugh….shew! I’m exhausted typing all that! :)

    • Hello Brenda that’s to funny, I see you spend a lot of time twitting? If you’re a blogger them you have to set up a time for writing there’s no other way to be productive if you can’t find the time to write.

This should one of the first things a blogger should incorporate when deciding to launch a blog for the first time.

Social media is cool and all, but! you can always pop in and out, to answer people, but writing on the other hand is very time consuming and needs to planed out at least for me.

I carefully think about what I want to write and how long it will take me to construct it, then I start writing until it’s all complete. The best hours for me to be my self is in the AM.

Thanks so much Brenda for sharing your schedule us seems like it keeps you busy. Have a wonderful day talk to you soon.
RGoss recently posted…How Do Bloggers Start Their Day? Hey You, Wake Up.My Profile

  10. Hey Rob,

I only get up that early if I have to go someplace and know I have to be there really early. I don’t even know how I would do all of this if I had a day job too. I so admire everyone who is able to handle all of that on top of working.

I don’t necessarily have the same schedule every single day but I do have my daily things that I have to accomplish. I’m not as regimented with the schedule as you are but I’m also here at home all day long and yes, I’m very consistent with my tasks.

I use to be able to let Kayla, my nine year old Chihuahua, out the back door to poop but she now prefers I put a leash on her and walk her out. Dang her! So four times a day we go out plus we walk every afternoon weather permitting. Yep, she’s pretty spoiled too.

Second for me too is Social Media, I go to Facebook, Twitter then a couple of others.
Then I follow my plan for the day that I have scheduled into my calendar the night before, I have to maintain my plan or I would not get anything done LOL

It is really the only time in the house that is really quiet, there are not any toys to step on and my spouse has already left for work. I try to publish on my blog at least 4 to 5 times a week as well as have a few articles that are stored since I have a move coming up. This was a great post.

  17. Hi Rob,

Your day sounds exactly like mine EXCEPT…..I don’t wake up so early. Usually my day starts after 11 am. It is because I have lots of clients on the other side of the globe and communicate with them at 2 am my time. Ahhh the beauty of running my own business!

I do start with the pups…all three of them always before coffee because, well, they want it that way. I have a system of social media like yours too. I check all my sites in a short period of time. Then my blog and emails.

Most importantly I care for my list more than anything else. Seeing who opted into something, sending out emails, etc. My list is my baby. The rest can be handled in a short time.

And of course, I do take time out for ME! It can be a visit to the gym, a walk, shopping etc. Every day there is ME time and I’ve made that a good practice so I’m balanced.

Thanks for sharing your day as a good example of how we can run our business without getting “stuck” on social sites.

  18. Starting early with the day has definitely some advantages. As far I know the mind remains quite fresh and ideas flows flawlessly through a still mind. As the day moves on we get pounded by information overload and brain moves to a hyperactive state. So I always prefer to do the most important tasks of the day just after I start with a freshly brewed coffee. I have seen it working wonders for me many a times.
